Emotions around the home
Sensory Mapping is a brilliant way to represent how our different senses work in response to different environments. But, an interesting way to look at it is how can this be related to Design and Privilege.
I’ve decided to look at the different emotions and sensory experiences we come across around the home, specifically the mornings when everybody is rushing about to get ready. I’ve mapped this out in reference to the two key senses, sound and movement.
From the above picture, it’s quite evident how much sound and movement are present in the public areas of the house. In terms of design and privilege, the sound was quite hard to hear during these times because my ear was blocked all week, so I guess in a way it is a privilege to be able to sense these things.
