Making the most out of a quiet week
This week was quiet and more relaxed as there wasn’t much work to be done. I started the week off with some additions and adjustments to the personal shopper’s office quantity survey.
We then had a meeting for the derma/ dental clinic that we are working on and the person we met explained a few changes to be made according to the doctor’s needs as well as the products being used. It was insightful to hear how careful and specific the measurements were in terms of furniture placement.
I then moved on to make some adjustments to the person shopper’s office drawings (sections)
Once these sections were done I spent my time making 2 more elevations of the packaging room so there were multiple views for the custom-made packaging desk/ storage unit.
Once these were sent off to my manager, I spent my time trying to see what else I could do from my checklist. I finished everything except two other tasks. So I started doing the first task which was another quantity survey for an office that was already designed and drawn up on CAD. It was the biggest space I’ve drawn up a BOQ for so far. I finished half of it by the end of the week and left the rest for next week.
A lesson I learnt this week was to take my own time when I do my work as rushing it, just to finish it quickly will lead to silly mistakes. this was something I practiced doing last week and this week as it’s something I struggle with.
Lastly, I’d like to end its week with a quote,
“ Action is the foundational key to all success.” — Pablo Picasso
